Peak May–June commencement dates fill quickly. Reserving 4–6 weeks early is recommended.
A light-colored or white dress, jumpsuit, or a tailored dress shirt with chinos or slacks works best. Since college gowns are open in the front, clean necklines photograph crisply. Bring your degree sash/stole, honor cords, and decorated cap.
Walking across UW's Red Square and campus hills in heels can be tiring! We strongly recommend wearing comfortable sneakers or slide sandals between shooting spots, and switching into your heels or dress shoes right before each camera setup.
Yes! Your graduation is a shared accomplishment. Feel free to bring your roommates or parents along for a portion of the session to capture hugs, cap tosses, and joint family memories at no extra charge.
Early morning (around 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM) is ideal if you want completely empty campus lawns with zero background crowds. Late afternoon (1.5 hours before sunset) gives you that rich, dreamy golden hour glow across Drumheller Fountain and the Chapel of St. Ignatius.

Yes! Suzzallo & Allen Library and Drumheller Fountain are only a 4-minute walk apart along Rainier Vista on UW Seattle campus. During our 1-hour session, we easily capture both iconic spots—starting with library Gothic stone arches and the Quad, and concluding with golden-hour celebration portraits at Drumheller Fountain with Mount Rainier in the background.
Seattle weather can be unpredictable. If rain makes outdoor shooting unviable, we have a 100% weather guarantee: you can reschedule to the next clear sunny date at no extra fee, or utilize Suzzallo & Allen Library’s magnificent indoor Gothic arches and glass skybridge.
